Are you happy with your current accountant?
It is really simple to move accountants.
If you aren’t comfortable with asking your current accountant the questions that you need to ask them OR if you are asking the questions but the answers aren’t making sense….. then it’s time to make a change. As an accountant I am a trusted advisor to my clients, if they aren’t happy with me I’d expect them to move on to another accountant who is a better fit. We can’t all be for everyone, the world doesn’t work that way.
Lots of small business owners that I speak to feel like it may be a big upheaval to move to another accountant but trust me, it’s easy.
You just need to find an accountant to move to, tell your current accountant you are leaving (and ask them how much of what you have already paid them is to be refunded, worth a try!).
The new accountant then writes to the old one for professional clearance and they pass all the details over, including the access to the any software licences.
It is so important to find an accountant that you can trust and who is a good fit for you and your business.
Don’t let fear of switching put you off… it’s honestly a simple process.
